purchase questionnaireThe standard FitSprings structure requires a ceiling height of 8.5 feet and is 5 feet wide and 13 feet long. It can accommodate up to 2 people in a full setting or 6 people using all of the pieces if you were teaching a circuit style class.
Customized FitSprings structures are also available upon request for smaller and larger spaces.
FitSprings has been used in gyms, athletic centers, Pilates studios, and physical therapy clinics in a number of ways, including:
- Helping dancers improve their technique and recover from injury
- Conditioning and cross training professional football players and high level athletes
- Helping older adults improve their balance and coordination in a safe and controlled environment
- Creating dynamic higher intensity cardio workouts that minimize impact on the joints in a Pilates or fitness setting
FitSprings has also been used by members of the San Francisco Ballet, the Arizona Ballet, former professional tennis players, and a player from the Cincinnati Bengals.
Additionally, the FitSprings frame is safety rated to support up to 4,000 pounds and can double as mount for Bodhi. TRX, RedCord, and aerial.
Finally, FitSprings is designed to allow you to store your reformer, barrel, or chair under it or help you preserve floor space for group classes.
While it might be tempting to hang springs from the ceiling, this is inadvisable and potentially dangerous. First, there is no such thing as a universal ceiling height and the springs were not designed to stretch beyond a certain limit. Additionally, hanging springs from your ceiling presents a safety and liability issue and if an accident happens, it is unlikely that insurance will cover it.
Beyond that, the design of the Fitsprings is a result of Jill working with numerous clients and engineers to find the optimal placement and spring tension to support the arms and legs for dynamic movement.
Additionally, the straps and springs used to support the pelvis and shoulders are a specific dimension that makes it comfortable to wear, fit body types on both sides of the bell curve, and provides the right amount of resistance to support AND challenge you.
